The Anser community loves to get together to build community and celebrate. A number of events happen each year where families can spend time together and build the bonds that make our community strong. Here is a list of some of the Celebrations and Events Anser families and staff look forward to each year.
Historically the picnic is held the Sunday of the weekend before Labor Day. Families bring a picnic dinner, a dessert to share and join each other on the playground to spend some time catching up on what happened over the summer, learning about volunteer opportunities and getting to know the Anser teachers and staff. This year’s date and time:
Anser parents attend an informational session presented by the Education Director, Anser Board and Family Council. After learning what’s new this year at Anser parents attend sessions led by their child’s teachers where they learn about the year’s expedition, field work and many other important topics. This year’s date and time: Harvest Ball
The Harvest Ball is a Family Council sponsored event for Anser parents and students. Come dressed up in your Halloween costume to dance, play games, eat some yummy snacks and enjoy some Autumn Merriment! This year’s date and time: October 22nd, 6:30pm.
This Family Council sponsored event is different each year, but it is always a fun and for parents only. Past years have included a community book club, bowling night and chili feed. This year’s date and time: Saturday January 25th, 2014.
This is the social event of the year! Each spring Anser parents donate their time and talents or solicit donations, students create art projects and the whole parent community, current and alumni gathers to bid and celebrate another great school year. All families are asked to think about their talents and their passions and to share those with their fellow Anser parents to provide much needed financial support to the school. This year’s date: Friday March 14th at the Riverside hotel.
